VIVATECH 2018: Jas HENNESSY & Co, ITECA AND HTC VIVE
To optimize the operational excellence of the professionals, ITECA deploys digital twin solutions with major industrial accounts and mid-cap companies. Expert in artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality, ITECA has responded to the needs of Hennessy by rolling out collaborative solutions, training and intervention and supervision assistance, including the digitalization of the continuous improvement approach.
In view of its implementation, Hennessy has made the industrial site of production of Pont Neuf the flagship project of its industry of the future by mobilizing wills and new, multi-site, multi-service and multi-user means.
Using the so-called immersive emerging technologies, ITECA designs intuitive interactive interfaces that make it possible to apprehend a digital twin, scale one, in real time, in mobility or in sedentarity, from virtual reality, augmented reality or from a tablet or smartphone.
«It is rare that the luxury sector reveals its manufacturing secrets and communicates about its processes. Hennessy trusted us
to support them in an exceptional project that focused on driving operational excellence through an ambitious digital twin. It was natural for us to return this experience with the help of an actor very attentive to the expectations of professionals and manufacturers, namely HTC Vive. This alliance of excellence for the industry of the future has made it possible to offer an incomparable showcase, a true pedagogy on the subject and to meet the precise expectations of the industry. »
« This Digital Twin has beaten all records. We exceeded our performance expectations for continuous improvement goals and operational excellence. It is not impossible that other benefits will appear in the longer term as we break down the solutions and disseminate these new performance vectors to the whole group. »
«ITECA’s impressive professional VR experience takes advantage of the new high-resolution Vive Pro to showcase a true-to-life visual quality, which is key in creating an immersive and realistic virtual factory environment. With a 78% improved resolution, premium audio quality and enhanced comfort for extended periods of use, the Vive Pro headset provides the ideal VR solution for ITECA’s digital twin applications.»
The relationship between a prestigious local actor such as Hennessy and a SME from Angoulême such as ITECA demonstrates a genuine commitment to the virtuous principles of open innovation. It was a question of bringing the transversality and the agility necessary to a strategic project of digital transformation of the company.
In order for such an asymmetrical report to work, the professional maturity and boldness of Hennessy House’s innovators and, on the other hand, goldsmithery, technological know-how and the passion of ITECA have had to be on the one hand on the cutting edge topics of digital.
This leadership helps to draw a little more the emerging silhouette of the industry of the future. This open innovation has not only helped build a virtuous relationship, but has also been conducive to building values that benefit the entire ecosystem. Indeed, the innovation developed here benefits more globally, in the form of its response but also in its method, to the entire regional industrial network.
Finally, thanks to a transversality well deployed, it is “a rocket with three stages” which took off:
Beyond technologies, this relationship illustrates the transformation of organizations through the transformation of relationships and methods.
ITECA was the first SME in France to offer a Digital Twin of this size. Beyond the only digital model of a 26,000 m² industrial site, the challenge was to model certain flows, specifically, on the production line. From the points of entry to the exit points, all the processes had to be restored in animations, in order to be able to offer, in the long term, algorithmic models for optimizing the production of the bottling site.
Marc Sorin, Hennessy Industrial Operations Director, supports these elements: “This Digital Twin has beaten all records. We exceeded our performance expectations for continuous improvement goals and operational excellence. It is not impossible that other benefits will appear in the longer term as we break down the solutions and disseminate these new performance vectors to the whole group. “
This year, Hennessy will host ITECA in a pavilion dedicated to the experience of the Digital Twin at the Hennessy Pont Neuf site. Visitors will be able to experience an interactive and immersive experience of virtual reality and discover the 26,000 m² of this unique industrial site in Europe. It is a virtual factory in the heart of VivaTech thanks to the know-how of the industry 4.0.
Conference of Yaël ASSOULINE, CEO of ITECA and Marc SORIN, Hennessy Industrial Operations Director, at 12:00 on May 25th. To register: https://vivatechnology.com/
To encourage new uses, it is essential for ITECA to offer high quality experiences. As such, if the position of ITECA, software publisher, concerning the hardware in general and display devices remains agnostic, it seemed essential to him to raise the criteria of selections of material performances with the suppliers of helmets of reality virtual reality and augmented reality.
HTC Vive was early to engage professional application developers and innovative solution providers, the recovery of need was crystal clear. Therefore, physical quality was an essential component of the experiential restitution of ITECA software. And it is on this criterion that the suppliers were challenged in anticipation of a demonstrator put forward through the ITECA pavilion of VivaTech‘s LVMH booth.
HTC Vive was particularly notable for its attention to the needs of professionals and manufacturers in terms of mobility, comfort and virtual reality display power.
In addition, since ITECA addressed virtual reality and augmented reality, the brand new Vive Pro allowing a mixed reality display was particularly relevant since it was the only one in its category. Vive Pro has therefore emerged as an obvious and reliable development platform for ITECA’s ambitions of expression in the industry of the future.
Hervé Fontaine, Vice President of Virtual Reality Enterprise Business Development HTC Vive Europe, says: “ITECA’s impressive professional VR experience takes advantage of the new high-resolution Vive Pro to showcase a true-to-life visual quality, which is key in creating an immersive and realistic virtual factory environment. With a 78% improved resolution, premium audio quality and enhanced comfort for extended periods of use, the Vive Pro headset provides the ideal VR solution for ITECA’s digital twin applications”
